E.K.Mosley was born in Paris and grew up living between London and Houston. Studying Illustration at Falmouth University in Cornwall, Mosley specialised in Etching and Stencil Screen Printing with a focus on children's books, comics and book covers.
Mosley works at and exhibits with John Howard Print studios in Penryn, Cornwall. Mosley creates prints using a process that involves layering hand cut out paper stencils; a style influenced and developed in Houston while studying Moku Hanga (Japanese woodblock printing) at Glassell School of Art.
Growing up on stories by Maurice Sendak and Roald Dahl has developed the slightly darker humour and surreal feeling in Mosley's own illustrations and writing style. The Harry Potter Books, Hayao Miyazaki and Tove Janson, writer of the Moomins were also big influences.
E.K.Mosley is currently working on an illustrated children's book set on the river Nile, and a comic series called Underscore & Jibe about an Alien, a Thing and a lost spaceship.
When not at work Mosley enjoys creating short stop motion animations, sipping coffee in quiet corners and messing around in boats.
